A few weeks ago now I was really run down and found myself with flu symptoms; I’d forgotten just how much a runny nose and a cough can make you feel sorry for yourself! Honey and lemon is essential.
But I did. I wallowed and moaned and stayed off work, only feeling worse by the day. However it did allow me to be able to sit and get my shit together for a few days without running around at a thousand miles an hour. I’ve been attempting to get another job ready for when my placement ends, working 9-5.30 weekdays, training for a 10k run, making a long distance relationship work, and trying to have a social life. Sometimes it’s good to stop for 5 minutes and just do things that make you happy.
I’d bought some frames from a charity shop back in December, planned on spray painting them and creating some lovely whitewashed/distressed pieces of work then giving them away as gifts. This didn’t happen as I had NO time at christmas, however it’s not a very strenuous task.
Next stop is what to put in the frames. I’m a visual junkie and I have more images parading around my walls in my room than I know what to do with. However there were a few things I’d been wanting to categorise. So here they are…
If you’re a festival/music fan like me, you’ll know how hard it is to cut off those wristbands never mind throw them away. So I simply pinned them on to some card. I can’t wait to see what will be joining them after this summer! (Rockwertcher, Bestival….)
You can also see on the right hand side a frame full of gig tickets which I didn’t know what to do with. In the centre is a map of Barcelona from the hotel I stayed in last summer with my boyfriend, which was a lovely trip (after Benicassim much needed) and definately deserves a place behind that heart card. The ‘Take your time’ is not finished, my aim is to do something much bigger and better with those three words.
Last but not least, if you have an old or broken frame this is a perfect solution. All you need is a sharpie and some good handwriting (or even messy! art is art)
